# OCPP Advanced Pricing Overview

OCPP Advanced Pricing is a feature that enhances the pricing capabilities of EV charging stations. This includes the following functionality:

* Display more complex pricing structures on the charging station
* Real-time display of running costs during charging sessions
* Present the final cost at the end of a charging session

Originally introduced as "California Pricing Requirements" in OCPP 1.6 to meet regulatory demands in California, this feature has become an integral part of the base protocol in OCPP 2.0.1. Advanced Pricing is crucial for providing transparency to drivers about charging costs and complying with regulations in certain jurisdictions.

  #### For OCPP 1.6 stations: Refer to the station hardware's manual for compatibility and instructions on enabling this feature

  #### For OCPP 2.0.1 stations: No additional configuration should be necessary, as this should be part of the base protocol on the station
